Union Square Greenmarket, April 1, 2010
It hit 90 degrees in Central Park today. Was it just six weeks ago that we were knee-deep in snow around here? Though the weather said mid-summer, the produce on display said late winter (potatoes, parsnips, storage apples) and early spring (ramps).

Ramps, billed as “wild leeks,” were piled high early in the morning, but the farmer who was selling them said they would be gone well before noon.
